Thank you for reading this page!

I want to translate Help:Parser functions to Japanese. But I'm afraid of misunderstanding. Would you explain the below sentence in boldface in simple English? Thank you!

もし日本語がわかる方が、日本語で解説してくださるなら、それもとても助かります。(If you explain in Japanese, it's very helpful for me, too.)

The ParserFunctions extension is a popular MediaWiki extension that added a number of useful parser functions on top of the MediaWiki ones listed above. This extension is enabled by default across all of Wikia. This extension also include most of the parser functions found in the now deprecated extension StringFunctions, most notably {{#explode}}.

I'm afraid that I do not know Japanese, but I will try my best to explain it in the simplest way possible:

This application includes most parser functions (A "parser function" is a special piece of code in MediaWiki which extends a templates ability to perform properly) found in the now no longer used application StringFunctions, most commonly and importantly {{#explode}}.

Let me know if you would like me to simplify this further. Rider ranger47 (talk) 15:29, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your help! I can't understand what "the now no longer used application StringFunctions" means. (I know StringFunctions is this Extension: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:StringFunctions .)--Plover-Y (talk / KirbyWiki / WLB Wiki) 2014-11-17 15:43 (UTC)

It means that the extension is no longer useful, and has been replaced or has stopped being used. Rider ranger47 (talk) 15:47, November 17, 2014 (UTC) Checkmark Done Rider ranger47 (talk) 15:52, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! Let me make sure I understand you correctly. You mean, "StringFunctions ({{#explode}} and so on) is no longer useful, so we can use "parser function" (in ParserFunctions Extension) instead of StringFunctions" ?? --Plover-Y (talk / KirbyWiki / WLB Wiki) 2014-11-17 16:03 (UTC)

No, it means that it is included, but no longer used. Rider ranger47 (talk) 16:07, November 17, 2014 (UTC)

I really appreciate your kindness! I have understood it clearly. Thank you for your explanation!!--Plover-Y (talk / KirbyWiki / WLB Wiki) 2014-11-17 16:11 (UTC)
