- I would suggest "A malicious intent that spreads like (wild)fire", because:
- 悪意 unambiguously means ill will, malice, malicious intent, spite, etc.
- 燃え拡がる is "to spread" but mostly used with a fire that spreads to another place; figurative, the weblio dictionary says it's used like: 物事が燃え広がる of a matter, to spread - so I think that fits nicely.
